Our Beliefs

At
The Belleville Lighthouse Church
we believe...

  1. We believe in God, the Father, eternal and almighty, creator of all things. (Ephesians 3:9; 4:6)

  1. We believe in Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God.  We believe in His purpose, His virgin birth, His death, His resurrection and His ascension. (John 3:16-17)

  1. We believe in the Holy Ghost, that He is the third person in the triune Godhead; and the divine Spirit through whom the Father and the Son work. (John 15:26; 14:16)

  1. We believe in Salvation, in the new birth, that when a sinner believes that Lord Jesus died for him and has the power to forgive and take away sin, he receives forgiveness, and he is made a new creature in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:9)

  1. We believe in sanctification, that through the finished work of Jesus, we are made Holy, and we receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness that is both progressive and definite. (Romans 5:17)

  1. We believe in the water baptism by immersion, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. (Matthew 28:19)

  1. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost, that He is the endowment of power from on high upon the sanctified life. (Acts 2:3,4)

  1. We believe that every child of God should strive for perfection. (Matthew 5:48) - Not by our own efforts, but by the Spirit - For of this I am confident, that He who has begun a good work within you will go on to perfect it in preparation for the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6)

  1. We believe in the Divine church built by Jesus Christ; (Matthew 16:18) - that it embraces and includes everyone who is born into the household of faith. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among mortals by which we must be saved.' (Acts 4:11-12)

  1. We believe in divine healing, that God has provided in Jesus Christ complete healing of all diseases. (James 5:14-15)

  1. We believe in Bible signs following them that believe. (Mark 16:17; Acts 2:43; Acts 4:30; Acts 5:12; Acts 6:8; Acts 8:13; Romans 15:19; 2 Corinthians 12:12)  We believe that when God confirms His word with signs following, it will bring edification to His church and glory to God.
